Founded by Dr. Joseph Bentivegna and Tom O’Keefe, InfoMedMD is a medical symptoms checker which through a series of medical questions (infoMeds) provides you with personalized health care information specific to you and your medical symptoms.
Dr. Joseph Bentivegna, an ophthalmologist in Rocky Hill, CT, brings over 20 years of medical expertise to infoMedMD. Dr. Bentivegna is an attending physician at Middlesex Hospital (Connecticut) who graduated from St. Francis College and Penn State Medical School. Dr. Joe did a medical internship at Brown University (Roger Williams Hospital) and then a year as a volunteer physician in Haiti for the Missionaries of Charity (the order of Mother Teresa). Dr. Joe did his ophthalmological training at New York Medical College and became board certified in 1989. His research on the mechanism of accommodation (how the eye focuses) won first place for research at Penn State Medical School. Dr. Bentivegna was once a syndicated columnist writing on medicine and politics and ran for the United States Senate in 1994. He has written three books: The Neglected and Abused: A Physician’s Year in Haiti, When to Refuse Treatment and The Lords of Greenwich.
Tom O’Keefe brings over 10 years of internet business experience to infoMedMD. As the President of TOKiBiz, Inc., O’Keefe works with entrepreneurs and startups to help them develop creative and profitable Web 2.0 applications. O’Keefe is also the founder of Bizak, which calculates the profitability and valuation of internet startups.
